LAHORE As another terror attack targets Lahore, senior Punjab minister Raja Riaz said on Monday that the NA 123 by-elections will go on as planned.
Riaz added that there will be a tremendous security upgrade during the polls at the NA-123. However, the PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif opted not to stand in the by elections citing security risks.
NA-123 is widely expected to be swept by the PML-N as this constituency in the heart of Lahore is considered a stronghold of Nawaz Sharif.
There have been a number of security concerns surrounding the NA-123 by-polls, especially after a PTI candidates family was fired upon.
There are more than 200,000 eligible voters at NA-123 and analysts predict that despite being involved in several controversies, the PML-N will emerge victorious.
