UAV crashlands near Sargodha

ISLAMABAD, July 13 An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the Pakistan Air Force malfunctioned during a training flight on Tuesday and made an emergency landing near Sargodha.

The UAV's safety parachute was automatically deployed. But it was slightly damaged because of rough landing.

An Air Force official said “Inquiry into the incident has been ordered by the Air Headquarters and we are trying to ascertain what exactly went wrong.

The UAV, which is indigenous technology, safely landed and the damage was minor.”

He said the PAF used UAVs for reconnaissance and surveillance and it did not have weapons delivery mechanism.
