QUETTA, Aug 3 A prominent businessman was injured and his driver killed when armed men opened fire on them in Satellite town area of the city on Tuesday night.

Police said that Mir Firoz Khan Lehri and his driver were passing through the Farooq Azam chowk area when some unidentified armed men opened fire on their vehicle.

Mir Lehri and his driver Amir Hamza were injured seriously and taken to a private hospital in Satellite town where the driver died.

Mir Lehri was admitted to the hospital and his condition was said to be serious.

The cause of attack could not be ascertained.
