Rainwater inundates major parts of Dadu
DADU, July 29 Rainwater and sewage have accumulated in major parts of Dadu town and several katcha and pucca houses have reportedly been collapsed amid heavy showers that hit the town once again late on Wednesday. It continued till Thursday morning.
As a result of heavy rains, Mallah chowk, Murad Nako upto Dadu canal, Buth Mohalla, Mohammad Shah graveyard area from Workshop upto Dadu canal, Najam colony, Moundar Nako, New bus stand, Irrigation colony, Railway station colony, Bagri colony, police headquarter area, old cattle piri, Mazdoorabad, roads leading to residences of two ministers-Rafique Ahmed Jamali and Pir Mazharul Haq and MPA Syed Ghulam Shah Jilani have become artificial lakes.
Sewerage water, accumulated in government offices and schools, could not be drained out.Affected people decried apathy of the taluka municipal administration in draining out rainwater from their houses.
They complained that Murad Nako area upto Dadu canal was virtually under knee-deep water but the TMA staff did not take any practical measures to drain it out. They said that rainwater entered into their houses and also damaged household items. TMO Dadu Qamaruddin Memon was spotted by people near the press club, they surrounded his vehicle and raised slogans.
The TMO told Dawn that long hours of loadshedding had complicated the problem as pumping machines were not able to drain out water. He complained that he had informed the engineer of Hesco whose attitude was negative.
INJURED Nine devotees of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar were injured when roof of a rented house collapsed at fort rest house area on Thursday.
They were identified as Nasim, Ihsan, Allah Rakhio, Manzooran, Asghar and Abdul Rehman. They belonged to Lodhran. They were taken to taluka hospital Sehwan for treatment.
