Police kill suspect in Quetta
QUETTA, March 8 Police gunned down a man who they said opened fire at policemen while trying to enter an Imambargah in Kashmirabad area on Monday.
According to sources, the man opened fire at policemen deployed at the Imambargah after climbing the roof of guards' room. The policemen returned fire and killed the man identified as Noorul Haq.
DIG operations said the man wanted to enter the Imambargah, adding that another man accompanying him fled when police started firing.
After the incident, police and FC personnel cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Some people opened fire at the security personnel, injuring one of them. The attackers escaped after the personnel fired back.
Meanwhile, some people took the body of Noorul Haq to the press club and held a protest claiming that he was innocent. They raised slogans against the government and police.
Balochistan National Party-Mengal's secretary general Habib Jalib Baloch who was leading the protesters called for action against personnel who had killed Noorul Haq.
CONSTABLE SHOT DEAD A police constable was shot dead in Mastung town on Monday. Ghoram Baloch, a spokesman for the Baloch Liberation Front, claimed responsibility for killing Constable Abdul Shakoor Langu.
