RAWALPINDI: Envoy calls for strengthening economy

RAWALPINDI, March 29: The high commissioner in Kenya, Hamid Kadwai, has said there is an urgent need for a strong economy to strengthen Pakistan.

He said this during his visit to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).

Mr Kadwai stressed the need for increasing exports and manufacturing of local products. He was accompanied by the commercial counsellor of Pakistan to Kenya Safdar Suhail. The senior vice-president of the RCCI, Dr Hasan Sarosh Akram, welcomed the distinguished guests.

Mr Kadwai said Kenya and other East African countries had big markets and offered opportunities for investment to Pakistani businessmen. He said warehouses would be established in Kenya and exhibitions arranged for Pakistani products. He also assured the RCCI members that his embassy would provide assistance to Pakistani businessmen in this regard.
