Benazir Bhutto felicitates Jahangir Badr

ISLAMABAD, April 3: The PPP chairperson, Benazir Bhutto, has felicitated Jahangir Badr on his release on bail.

In a message on Thursday, Ms Bhutto praised Jahangir Badr for his steadfastness and assured him that the party would take up the matter with diplomats, human rights bodies and international organizations.

She also directed the relevant committees of the party to get into full gear and expose the “blatant political victimization” of Jahangir Badr through judicial abuse.

Ms Bhutto said she was happy that “truth and justice has finally prevailed.” She said, “party workers are proud of your steadfastness and courage, which will continue to inspire and motivate them for a long time. You have suffered long but I am sure that the suffering was not in vain and you have come out of the ordeal more determined than ever before to fight for democracy and to chase the dictators out.”

Ms Bhutto also praised the apex court for taking a stern and just note of the incident of denial of bail and said it would put a brake on the wheel of injustice, which is grinding the innocent and the oppressed people.
