HYDERABAD: Siraj says govt believes in reconciliation

HYDERABAD, Feb 26 The government believes in politics of reconciliation and is keen on working in cooperation with everyone, but whosoever disagrees can choose his own line of action.

Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Agha Siraj Durrani said this while talking to reporters during an open katchchery in Hala, adding, that the living example of it was Senate elections wherein majority of candidates assumed the office unopposed.

He appreciated the local government system and suggested few amendments in regard to overlapping of powers.

“We are not against nazims but action will be taken if corruption was proved against any,” he said. Mr Durrani in reply to a query concerning creation of new districts in Sindh by the previous government said the issue was under active consideration and decisions would be taken soon as some districts were bifurcated on political basis.

The Pakistan Peoples Party came into power after giving huge sacrifices while few elements were out hatching conspiracies which hopefully would be foiled he said and attributed the present crisis to the US imported rulers who lacked a constituency of their own.

Makhdoom Jamiluzzaman and Hala Taluka Nazim Makhdoom Habibullah Siddiqui also spoke on the occasion.
