KARACHI Pakistan's ace cueman Muhammad Sajjad cruised into the semifinals of the Korat Cup Snooker Championship with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over current champion Pisit Chansri of Thailand in the quarterfinals in Thailand on Thursday night.
26-year-old Sajjad, who finished as a runner-up in Asian Snooker Championship a few months ago, put up an all-round display which carried him to the last four of the championship against Thailand number 14 Chansri.
Sajjad will meet Thai veteran Noppadon Noppachorn in the semifinals on Friday.
Sajjad dropped the opening two frames before carving out an 8-68, 57- 70, 81-0, 81-1, 86-0, 0-64, 77-34 victory with break 86 in the fifth frame.
The match was locked 3-3 at one stage, but Sajjad kept his nerves to win an exciting match. - APP
