PEL outclass Afghan FC in PPFL

LAHORE Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) recorded their first win in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) when they slammed three goals in the second session to outclass Afghan FC by 4-0 at the MTFA Ground here on Thursday.

 

Meanwhile, PMC Athletico Club Faisalabad bagged another win when they managed to beat Nushki's Baloch FC 1-0 at the University of Agriculture Ground in Faisalabad.

 

The exciting battle between Wapda and Habib Bank Limited (HBL) ended in a 2-2 draw at the Railway Stadium in Lahore.

 

The PEL-Afghan FC match was off to a brilliant start with Abid Ghafoor becoming the quickest goal scorer of the show by tucking the ball past Afghan's keeper Jahangir in the 43rd second. Leading by 1-0 at interval, PEL added three more through Waheed Hameed (47th min), Mohammad Adil (51st min) and Mohammad Bilal (83rd min).

 

The match also saw Afghan FC's Obaidullah being shown the red card by FIFA referee Asif bin Younus.

 

At Faisalabad, Munir Ahmed's lone goal in the 56th minute proved to be enough for PMC to pocket three precious points.

 

The Wapda-HBL saw Wapda's winger Qamar Zaman playing a fine combination with Arif Mehmood to steer the ball past Sajid Hussain in the 115th second.

 

HBL drew level in the 17th minute when spearhead Mohammad Ishtiaq converted a short pass from winger Zakir Lashari.

 

It was 1-1 at interval with the second session also providing one goal each to both outfits. Zakir Lashari surged the bankers ahead in 69th minute but Wapda's Qamar Zia scored his second goal in the 80th minute to level the score which remained unchanged till the final whistle.
