Five killed on roads in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA, March 9 Five people including a woman were killed while three others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in the district on Sunday.

In the first incident, a Gujranwala-bound car hit a truck while overtaking it on Kala Khatai Road near Ittehad Chemicals factory, killing three unidentified people, including a woman, on the spot while injuring two others, who were taken to Mayo Hospital in Lahore.

A speeding car hit Rahim Ali and his son Ziaul Hassan when they were crossing Lahore-Sargodha Road near Begum Kot, Shahdara, killing Rahim on the spot and injuring Zia critically, who was later hospitalised.

A truck ran over 25-year-old Zahid when he was crossing the Grand Trunk Road near Murdike, killing him on the spot. The area police are investigating.
