SWABI: PAEC chief lauds GIK Institute

SWABI, April 10: The former Chairman of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, Dr Ishfaq Ahmad, has appreciated the academic activities and research efforts of the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology.

Dr Ishfaq along with the Rector of Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Dr Abdullah Sadiq, has paid a two-days visit to the GIK Institute.

During their visit they held a detailed meeting with the Rector of the GIK Institute, Prof Dr M. Naseer Khan, SI and Deans of all faculties. Dr Khan briefed about the Institute curriculum activities and various other programmes for achieving the desired objectives in the field of engineering sciences and technology.

They also visited the faculty of Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and Engineering Sciences.

While visiting the laboratories and observing the ongoing research activities there, he found it according to the international standard.

About the open house, he said the participation by the leading multi-national and national companies/industries was an indicator of growing confidence of the entrepreneurs who had taken keen interest in the hiring the graduates of the institute before their graduation ceremony.
