THATTA: Muttahida leader, six others booked

THATTA, April 11: The Mirpur Bathoro police have lodged a case against Mohammad Ibrahim Soho, the zonal in charge of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Thatta and Badin districts; his brother, Ghulam Rasool Soho, a councillor, Union Council Darya Khan Soho; and five others for attempted murder and causing injuries to four children of the Chang tribe at a fish farm on Friday.

In an FIR, which was lodged by Mithoo Chang, it was stated that he had heard gunshots while he was busy grazing cattle in his fields. He rushed to the spot and found that four children — Saleem, Saddam, Hanif, and Nazir Chang — had suffered bullet injuries. He took them to a hospital.

Meanwhile, Ayesha Soho, a member of the District Council Thatta, and wife of Ibrahim Soho told newsmen that 400 gunmen had attacked their fields to take over its possession on the instigation of their political rivals.

She said that the children had suffered injuries from their tribe’s own weapons, and added that they had staged a drama against the Sohos to implicate them in a false case.
