Nawabshah, Larkana sizzle at 51ºC

NAWABSHAH, May 24 Mercury is continuously on the rise in the district with temperature shooting up to 51 degrees Celsius on Monday.

An official at local Met office said that maximum temperature recorded on Monday was 51 degrees Celsius.

Dozens of people fell unconscious and many reported in various hospitals and health centres with complaints of sunstroke and gastroenteritis.

Our Larkana Correspondent adds Larkana and its adjoining areas remained in the grip of heat on Monday when the mercury rose to 51 degree Celsius.

The local met office said that weather might turn pleasant in the night when winds would blow.

Long hour power load-shedding has compounded peoples' problems.

Two days ago, Larkana sizzled at 51.3 degree Celsius.
