Musharraf`s arrest in BB murder case urged

LARKANA, Dec 6 Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party chief Dr Qadir Magsi has said that former president Pervez Musharraf should be arrested in Benazir Bhutto murder case, adding that the arrest will expose the elements behind her assassination and killers of Nawab Akabar Bugti and Balaach Marri.

Addressing a rally outside Jinnah Bagh here on Sunday, he regretted that President Asif Zardari had allowed Parvez Musharraf to go abroad, and said that the government had unnecessarily allocated funds for UN investigation into Benazir Bhutto's assa- ssination.

He said that the Pakistan People's Party had earlier compromised on Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's death and now police officers nominated for killing Mir Murtaza Bhutto and his comrades had been acquitted.

He said that those who had acquired power in the name of Benazir Bhutto had forgotten their voters and were now selling government jobs. The situation, he said, had forced educated youths to commit suicide.

He said that instead of serving and protecting rights of Sindhi people, the PPP had entered into an alliance with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. As a result, he said, Sindhi students were not getting admissions to educational institutions in Karachi.

He accused the MQM of pursuing the agenda of dividing Sindh but said that the STP and Sindhi people would never let that happen.

He advised the youth, who had joined the MQM, to join the STP. He persuaded the audience to pledge to support the STP in the next general elections.

Mr Magsi said that the STP had launched the “Save motherland movement” which stood for maximum provincial autonomy, no to outsiders' influx and settlement in Sindh, restoration of the province's control over its natural resources and jobs and education in Karachi for Sindhi people.

He said a rally would be held in Karachi on January 21.

Haidar Shahani, Ms Seher Rizvi, Haidar Mallah, Dr Sabhya Mughal and others also addressed the gathering.

Earlier, Dr Magsi was brought to Jinnah Bagh from Shaikh Zayed Chowk in a procession.
