Merger of Hyderabad Dehs in TM Khan urged
HYDERABAD, July 14 A large number of PPP activists of Hyderabad rural taluka held a demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday to demand implementation of a Sindh government's notification regarding transfer of 33 Dehs of Hyderabad district to Tando Mohammad Khan district.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Hakeem Khoso, Muzaffar Shoro and other Pakistan People's Party workers said that on the demand of the people of Hyderabad rural taluka, the government had issued the notification about transferring 33 Dehs of Hyderabad to Tando Mohammad Khan district.
However, they said, the notification had been held in abeyance due to opposition of what they called an urban organisation. They alleged that no development work had been carried out in the rural taluka in the tenure of previous district government of Hyderabad, which was dominated by the members of the organization. Under Hyderabad Development Package Rs12 billion had been spent on only two talukas -- Latifabad and Hyderabad city -- wheras the rural and Qasimabad talukas had been ignored, they added.
They demanded either restoration of original status of Hyderabad district or transfer of 33 Dehs of Hyderabad rural taluka to Tando Mohammad Khan district.
