KW&SB experts visit Hyderabad
HYDERABAD, June 18 Under instructions from Sindh Governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, an engineering team of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board inspected different pumping stations of Water and Saniation Agency here and was given a briefing by Hyderabad Development Authority Director-General Ghulam Mohammad Kaimkhani, on the city's sewerage system.
The team took stock of the situation that emerged from the recent rains in Qasimabad and Latifabad from the sewerage point of view. The team examined the sewerage system and the pumping stations' capacity.
The main purpose of the visiting team was to identify the sewerage problems and submit a detailed report and recommendations to the governor to streamline the disposal of water in future.
The Administrator of Hyderabad district Aftab Ahmed Khatri, Managing Director of Wasa Kafeel Ahmed and the concerned executive engineers accompanied the governor's team.
Meanwhile, the director-general of the HDA has issued instructions to the Wasa managing director to establish new small pumping stations in the low-lying areas of Qasimabad and Latifabad to meet future rain emergencies.
