Five held in Benazir jewellery theft case

NAWABSHAH, July 5 A police contingent raided different places here on Sunday and arrested an employee of Bilawal House and four other people in connection with the theft of jewellery from Bilawal House.

Informed sources told Dawn that the jewellery of Ms Benazir Bhutto had been stolen on or after Dec 27, 2007, following her assassination. The sources said that the Bilawal House employee was the main accused in the case.

Police from Shaheed Benazirabad, Qambar, Larkana and Naushahro Feroze districts took part in the raids and arrested six people, including three goldsmiths.

District Police Officer of Shaheed Benazirabad said he was out of town and his cellphone remained unattended.

Saddar SPO Rana Nasrullah told Dawn that a police party from Karachi raided some houses in Moro and other areas.
