Fauzia asks CJP to act against Shahbaz

LAHORE, April 19 PPP central information secretary Fauzia Wahab has urged the chief justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the statement of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif that he had become chief executive of the province for the third time despite a constitutional bar. She was responding to a question in this regard at the Lahore Press Club here on Sunday.

When asked if the PML-N wanted to see Jehangir Badr governor of Punjab, she said the PML-N should better appoint Makhdoom Javed Hashmi opposition leader in the National Assembly and Rana Sanaullah chief minister (of Punjab) for their sacrifices for the party before raising the issue.

Fauzia said the perception that Pakistan had become isolated proved wrong after the success of the Friends of Democratic Pakistan conference in Tokyo. A donation of over $5 billion showed the worlds confidence in Pakistan, she said and added that it needed more financial assistance to deal with various challenges. — Staff Reporter
