Constable dies in Quetta blast
QUETTA, Feb 5 Two people, a police constable among them, were killed in two separate incidents in Quetta and Gwadar on Friday.
Sources said a police van was hit in a roadside bombing in Killi Ibrahimzai area of Quetta. As a result, two policemen and a passer-by were injured seriously.
They were taken to hospital, where Constable Jahanzeb died. The police took the passer-by into custody because he was trying to flee the scene of the explosion.
A spokesman for the Baloch Liberation Front, identifying himself as Behram Baloch, called Dawn and said his group was behind the attack.
Meanwhile, a young man was killed and two others injured in Gwadar.
According to police, Shafqat Moon was sitting at his father's shop when two armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on him. Shafqat died straightaway.
Two other people who were present at the shop were injured, who were taken to hospital.
The assailants managed to flee from the crime scene. Police described the attack as a case of target killing.— Staff Correspondent
