CAA official lodges petition with CJP
HYDERABAD, May 13 An employee of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Illahi Bux Mahar, has lodged a petition with the Supreme Court against his removal as airport manager at Nawabshah last year after an “incident of tree felling”.
The official contended that his removal on security grounds was unfair as the Pakistan Air Force was responsible for security at the Nawabshah airport.
According to the official's claim, three inquiries had so far been conducted before he was posted at Karachi airport on May 4 as Senior Air Traffic Control Officer (ATC) _ 18 months after his removal. The official said all inquiries had cleared him of wrongdoing.
Mr Mahar said no copy of any inquiry report had been given to him. Only one show cause notice was issued on Feb 4, 13 months after completion of the first inquiry.
He said that he had replied in detail to the show cause notice on Feb 18, but after that had heard nothing from the CAA.
