Archaeology students in Okara

OKARA, April 28 A group of archaeology students is on a week's visit to Okara for a research project.

Accompanying the students is Dr Farzand Masih, the Punjab University's Department of Archeology chairman, who gave a presentation to the journalists at the Okara Press Club the other day.

He regretted that since 1947 no archeology work had been undertaken in Okara which, he said, had a rich pre-historic heritage which could be found under the soil.

He spoke at length on the theories of human emergence on earth and the Indus Valley Civilisation.

He said the team would stay in the district for a week for excavation at Satghara.
