SUKKUR: MMA calls for govt of people’s choice in Iraq

SUKKUR, April 15: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has called upon the world leaders to use their influence for the establishment of a government in Iraq according to the wishes of the Iraqi people.

The call was voiced at a seminar on the “Role of Millat-i- Islamia in Present Situation of Iraq,” held here on Monday under the auspices of the religio-political alliance.

The speakers at the seminar included the MMA’s parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly, Maulana Mohammad Sadiq, MNA Asadullah Bhutto and JUI leader Khalid Mehmood Soomro.

The US and the UK had no right to rule over the people of Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein’s government, they said and urged the world community to use its diplomatic influence to force the US troops to vacate Iraqi territory as soon as possible.

They warned that the US wanted to turn Muslim countries into its colonies through force and control their natural resources including oil.

They said that the US was acting as a terrorist state and trying to crush Islamic countries one by one.

They expressed their anger over the role of the Muslim countries, including Pakistan, which, they said, had failed to act according to the wishes of their people.

They particularly expressed concern over the attitude of the Pakistan government, saying that it had avoided condemning the US invasion of Iraq.

They said that the MMA was struggling against the designs of the anti-Muslim forces against Muslim countries including Iraq, Syria and Iran.
