RAWALPINDI: Rain turns weather pleasant in twin cities

RAWALPINDI, April 19: The twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad received 10mm and 13mm rain, respectively, which made the weather pleasant.

Scattered areas of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Sargodha and Chaman also received hailstorms on Saturday, Meteorological Department officials said.

Meanwhile, the Met office has recorded scattered rain in the NWFP, Northern Areas and Kashmir. Murree received 27mm rain; Attock, 10mm; Dir, 78mm; Malam Jaba, 78mm; Kalam, 60mm; Peshawar, 55mm; Saidu, 45mm; Kohat, 40mm; Chitral, 39mm; Risalpure, 39mm; Abbotabad, 56mm.

Temperature at Rawalpindi remained 27 Celsius; Islamabad, 31; Murree, 13; Abbotabad, 16; and Peshawar, 25. More rain is expected in Northern Areas and Upper Punjab in the next 24 hours, the Met office said.
