PESHAWAR: Charsadda bar former president shot dead

PESHAWAR, Feb 5 Unidentified persons killed former president of Charsadda District Bar Association here on Thursday, police said.

An official of Paharipura police told Dawn that gunmen attacked Advocate Saeedullah Khan near Ittehad Colony when he was travelling in his car on a link road. The lawyer, he said, died on the spot while his companion Anwarul Habib sustained bullet injuries.

A 12-year-old Afghan girl identified as Naila daughter of Mohammad Pervaiz also suffered bullet injuries. She later succumbed to her injuries. Another six-year-old boy Hamza, who was reportedly passing there, also received serious injuries.

The injured were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital. The complainant Anwarul Hazbib told police that two persons armed with Kalashnikovs attacked them.
