He told journalists on Wednesday that the expected wheat production was difficult to be achieved and the rains had caused more damage to wheat crop in low-lying areas.

“The wheat crop is in critical phase of production. It badly needs clear weather, but the region received rains continuously during the last few days.”

He said one side of the grains of the harvested wheat crop had turned black, which had not only reduced the yield but also affected the quality of the crop.
