KARACHI: PML-N leader slams Turbat killings

KARACHI, April 12 Pakistan Muslim League-N Sindh chapter president Ghaus Ali Shah has condemned the murder of three Baloch leaders in Turbat, saying that the government should pursue a policy of “live and let others live”.

Mr Shah, who is a retired justice and former defence minister and Sindh chief minister, was speaking at his first public meeting on Sunday after returning from an over eight-year exile in London.

The meeting was organised by PML-N District West and PML-N Sindh information secretary Zahid Rafique Butt in Saeedabad in connection with a mass-contact campaign.

Ghaus Ali Shah praised party workers and supporters for their perseverance during the eight years of “trial”. He said workers were following the principled stand taken by party chief Nawaz Sharif “who had rejected every offer and stood by principles”.

He also referred to the “principled stand” of the party leadership over the restoration of the judiciary to the Nov 2, 2007 position, which was removed illegally. “Mian Nawaz Sharif had taken a stand at the risk of his life, and ultimately the government had to restore the judiciary,” he said.
