KARACHI: 18 students booked for cheating in HSC exam

KARACHI, May 13 Eighteen candidates were caught using unfair means during the ongoing higher secondary school certificate (HSC) annual examination on Wednesday.

Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai along with members of the monitoring team visited various examinations centres on the 12th day of the exams.

An official of the intermediate board said the fate of all candidates caught cheating during the exams would be decided by a board's committee constituted for the purpose.

Meanwhile, the BIEK chairman announced that the papers which were postponed on May 12 because of the holiday announced by the govern- ment would be conducted on May 28.

Similarly, the paper that was postponed on April 30 due to the breakdown of law and order in the city would be conducted on May 27.

Mr Ahmad Zai made it clear that the venue and timings of the exams would remain unchanged.

Exam forms

The examination department of Karachi University has announced the schedule for submission of forms and fee of MA/Double MA and Improvement of Division External Annual Examinations 2008.

The exam forms with a late fee of Rs2,850 will be accepted from May 18 to June 2.

The forms will be available at bank counters at the Silver Jubilee Gate.

The candidates have been advised to get the forms endorsed from Room No 1 at the Silver Jubilee Gate of the university before depositing them along with the late fee in the campus branches of the NBP/UBL.—APP/PPI
