HYDERABAD: Hesco launches `forcible` recovery drive
HYDERABAD, Nov 28 In its ongoing drive against defaulters, the recovery teams of Hesco here on Friday disconnected power supply to 170 domestic and commercial consumers.
Manager, operation circle-I, Muzaffar Ali Abbasi, who led the recovery team, said in a statement that power supply to 70 domestic and commercial consumers was disconnected in Latifabad division and an amount of Rs200,000 was recovered from the defaulters.
He said that similarly, power supply was disconnected to 100 domestic and commercial consumers in Qasimabad and an amount of Rs150,0000 was recovered from the defaulters.
It is, however, interesting to note that in order to ensure what Hesco terms 100 per cent recovery, massive inflated bills, which have nothing to do with meter readings, have been issued to the domestic consumers. Due to an complicated and cumbersome procedure, it is next to impossible for the consumers to get their bills corrected according to meter reading.—Bureau
