Women`s squash: Zoya thrashes Habiba
KARACHI, Oct 19 Zoya Khalid of Army thrashed Habiba Khan of Sindh in straight games in the quarter-finals of the inaugural Karachi Women Open squash championship at the Karachi Club on Monday.
Zoya won the first two games with similar margins of 11-4.
Habiba showed some resistance in the third game but could not match the expertise of Zoya who won the third game 11-6 and made her way to the semi-finals.
Rushna Mahboob, Muqaddas Ashraf and Saima Shaukat are the other three players who will join Zoya in the last-four stage.
Muqaddas of Wapda faced some challenge in the second and third games before beating Mehwish Hanif from the Pakistan Army.
Second seed Rushna Mahboob of the Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited overpowered Riffat Khan of Punjab 3-1.
After taking 2-0 lead, Rushna lost the third game before bouncing back to win the fourth and clinched the match.
Wapda's Saima Shaukat dropped the third game before overcoming spirited Aliya Sarfraz of Wapda 3-1.
