Karachi outclass Rawalpindi in cricket final
KARACHI, Dec 8 Karachi outclassed defending champions Rawalpindi by seven wickets in the National Disabled Cricket Championship final at the PCB Regional Academy Ground here on Tuesday.
Openers Rao Javed and Arif Richard starred in their team's triumph. Rao struck eight fours in his 85-ball knock while Arif missed the ton by two runs, hitting seven boundaries in his 98 consuming 101 balls.
Rao and Arif gave their team a flying start of 208 while chasing 241 for victory.
Earlier, sent in to bat first, Rawalpindi made a respectable 240 for eight in the allotted 40 overs. Opener Hasnain Alam hammered a 71-ball 106 spiced with 14 boundaries and one six. Mohammad Altaf took all the three wickets.
Openers Hasnain and Mohammad Altaf gave their team a 158-run start. Altaf hit three fours in his 79-ball 58.
