PESHAWAR: A leader of Awami National Party and former MPA from Swat Dr Haider Ali Khan has decided to join Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

The former lawmaker, who also worked as ANP foreign affairs secretary, took the decision during a meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak here on Friday, said a handout.

Provincial Minister for Information Shah Farman Khan, PTI MPAs from Swat Mohibullah Khan and Fazl Hakeem Khan were also present on this occasion.

Welcoming the decision of Dr Haider Ali, the chief minister said that PTI was not a party of traditional politicians, who believed in making tall but false claims to woo people. “We need people working with missionary spirit,” he added.

Mr Khattak said that they felt happy over joining of their party by politician or parliamentarian of any other political party as they had become fed up with the hypocritical attitudes of traditional politicians.

The chief minister said that PTI had the quality that its workers believed in sincere service of the people.

That’s why people were joining PTI, however, if someone joined it for personal interest or greed then he or she could not stay in it for long.

The chief minister hoped that the newcomer would remain in frontline of PTI for achieving the mission of change.

He also accepted the invitation of Dr Haider to visit Swat. He said that he very soon he would visit Swat along with provincial leadership of PTI.
