QUETTA: The Balochistan Election Tribunal has disqualified MNA Maulvi Agha Muhammad in a fake degree case on Tuesday morning.

Maulvi Agha Muhammad was elected as an MNA from NA-261 Pishin-Ziarat on a ticket of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) during the May 2013 general elections.

Runner-up candidate Muhammad Essa Roshan of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) had challenged his degree.

During court proceedings, it was proved that Agha Muhammad's degree was fake and that he had never been to any educational institution.

The tribunal ordered re-election in the constituency with immediate effect.

With the loss of one seat, JUI-F currently holds two National Assembly seats.
