NEW YORK: While President Obama will be laying red carpet for the Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi at the White House, a Citizens Court convened by human rights group “Sikhs For Justice” (SFJ) will hold indictment proceedings against him.
The proceedings before Citizens Court will be telecast live throughout the United States by the Sikh rights group, SFJ said in a press statement.
The indictment proceedings will be conducted in a replica court room set up in the President’s Park right in the front of the White House.
The charge sheet issued by SFJ lists actions of Modi during 2002 massacre of Muslims, which constitute federal offenses under several provisions of the United States Code.
To publicise Modi’s indictment proceedings, the rights group has launched an advocacy campaign by renting dioramas at several Metro stops of Washington DC.

It makes sense if Sikhs residing in USA and rest of the world agitate to bring to book those responsible for killings of Sikhs in Delhi 1984 after Indira Gandhi was killed. The massacre of Sikhs was sponsored by Congress party workers as a revenge for the assassination of Indira Gandhi by her Sikh body guards. Most of murderers of Sikhs in 1984 pogrom are roaming freely in Delhi.
It is not understood why “Sikhs For Justice” (SFJ) have decided to stage this drama now. Most probably it is funded by those who want to divert attention from a most anticipated successful visit by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

@Amin Indian courts are not like Pakistani Courts. Thats where the difference lies in the institutions of Pak and INdia. Indias democracy is strong because of its institutions.

@Simranjit singh so far, no Sikh has been killed in Pakistan, only the property of a few were damaged and they asked for government protection, which was given. Not like the 10,000 Sikhs killed in1984 genocide. Now lets here from the ' living in a make believe India', India is peaceful, Minorities are safe, No one gets killed, there are no freedom movements in India, Kashmiri's throw stones at London occupying army because they are practicing for the 'glee danda' competition. Yawn!

@Simranjit singh Mann There are no killings of sikhs in Pakistan. Pakistani govt. did not ever planned to kill sikhs by taking out procession, beseing and targetting them. Nor was any skik gurudawra was attacked by pak army like golden temple was ransacked in operation blue star and in its aftermath thousands of innocent and armless sikh citizens were slaughtered in the streets of Delhi.

@Sunil Its a good effort particularly because its a smaller minority raising its voices against the injustice done to a bigger minority. Modi's completely silence on the excesses his party is committing against muslisms betrays his innocence. Also the duplicity of US govt; so as a CM you will be penalised to burn your own citizens but as PM we will lay a red carpet ! The message is that in reality human rights don't mean anything; when US and others shout about it its only to raise its profile, nothing else.

@Amin Yes. He was prosecuted politically motivated adverse prosecution. And yes, Indian courts will not allow rapists to take custody back of a 13 years old victim because she is now a "Muslim". Indian courts never committed judicial murder as that of Bhutto.
