KARACHI: The Pakistan Harijan Federation has appealed to the authorities concerned that all Hindu staff members, particularly sanitation workers at all local bodies are paid salaries in advance ahead of Diwali.

“On this auspicious occasion, I draw the attention of all high-ups to kindly help the poor Harijan men, women and orphan children, including widows. We need assistance in cash and kind so that we can celebrate Diwali,” said chief patron of the federation Prakash P. Chanaal on Friday. He urged the government to issue order for advance salary before Diwali on Oct 20.
