LAHORE: A labourer was killed while five others were injured when the roof of an under construction building collapsed in C-block, Iqbal Avenue, Chuhng, on Friday.

Saleem, Fiaz, Umer, Alam and Ayub were busy in work when the roof of the building caved in with a bang and the labourers trapped in the debris.

Rescue teams reached the spot and recovered the injured labourers from the debris. The injured were shifted to a hospital where Ayub, 21, of Vehari district, was declared dead.

The condition of four others was stated to be serious.

ACCIDENT: A teenage boy was killed while his brother was injured in an accident in Manga Mandi on Friday.

Police said Irfan, 18, and his brother Farman, 15, were going on a motorcycle when a tractor-trolley, coming from the opposite side, hit them near Shamaki Bhattian.

The driver left the tractor-trolley and fled from the scene.

The injured boys were taken to a hospital where Irfan could not survive and the condition of Farman was also stated to be serious.

Highway police reached the spot, impounded the vehicle and handed over the body to the family.

A case was registered against the tractor-trolley driver.
