KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has urged the government to present a people and business friendly budget, and stressed the need for broadening tax net.

The apex trade body also suggested that all categories of incomes should be declared taxable. Moreover, the government should announce incentives for a period of at least five years to encourage investment.

FPCCI President Mian Muhammad Adrees, however, praised the government for low inflation and improvement in assessment by the international rating agencies.

He suggested that the government should invite the private sector for investing in coal power plants of 25MW and above to curb the shortage of energy by allowing duty-free import of power plants.
