Zong has entered into an agreement with Universal Cinemas to become the exclusive telecom partner for Emporium Mall in Lahore, which is Pakistan’s biggest multiplex cinema.

The multiplex cinemas with nine screens, the biggest in the nation, will have a total seating capacity of over 1800 people.

Cinema and movie buffs will now be able to enjoy the latest movies on state of the art screens with international standard acoustics and sound quality.

Zong was recently awarded for its top rated service quality by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Zong also has the highest number of 4G sites in the country, which number more than 3,000, and plans to aggressively expand by year end.

This agreement would help create a synergy between the two companies to further enhance the cinematic landscape of Pakistan.

Fu Da, Regional Director Commercial Planning and Business Support and Faisal Nisar, General Manager Central along with other senior management from Zong were present at the ceremony. Chairman Nishat Chunian Group also graced the ceremony along with senior management of Nishat group, the parent company of Universal Cinemas.

Sharing views on this occasion, the Zong representative said, "We are committed to providing the latest technology to our customers and have delivered on our promise to be the market leaders in 4G speed, strength and coverage. Our partnership with Universal Cinemas, a leading company in the entertainment industry of Pakistan, will go a long way to enhance the cinematic experience of the audience. Most importantly it would provide a much needed impetus to the revival of the cinema in Pakistan."

Shahzad Saleem, Chairman, Nishat Chunian Group, parent company of Universal Cinemas, said "As Pakistan’s largest multiplex, we are truly delighted to have the country’s leading 4G network Zong as our brand partner. We hope this partnership sets a new trend in the entertainment industry by enhancing the quality of cinema screening. We are confident that this collaboration will prove to be mutually beneficial for both companies. We at Universal Cinemas extend our heartiest congratulations to the entire Zong team on this achievement.”
