Iran's naval fleet docks at Karachi for joint exercises ahead of 'Aman 17'

KARACHI: Iranian naval fleet docked at the Karachi port on Tuesday on a three-day visit to hold discussions on the regional political situation and matters of mutual interest, said a statement issued by Pakistan Navy.
Four Iranian Naval Ships — Lavan, Konarak, Falakhen and Khanjar — were received by the senior officials of Pakistan Navy and Iranian diplomats at the docks, the statement added.
"During the visit, the naval forces of both the countries will undertake joint drills in the Pakistani waters for three days."
Iranian naval vessels are on visit to Pakistan for the joint drills ahead of ‘Aman-17’ exercise, which the Pakistan Navy will host early next year.
Operational training activities and sports activities are also planned, said the statement by Pakistan Navy.
The visit of Iranian fleet is expected to promote peace and security in the region and enhance maritime collaboration between the two brotherly Islamic countries, read the statement.
The naval forces of Russia, China, Turkey and Iran are expected to participate in the annual international naval exercise 'Aman-17' next year.
The objective of the exercise is to exchange naval experiences and improve regional security.

In yht 1970s, there used to naval exercises between Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, UK and USA. Now the last two have been replaced by Russia and China. Changing alignments.

Great news; long overdue. It is critical that Pakistan build and strengthen ties with all those who are willing; specially those in the neighbor. India, which is trying to dig a pit for Pakistan, will eventually itself fall into it because sooner or the later its duplicitous, deceptive and simply spiteful nature will come up. Pakistan on the other hand should stay clear, objective, friendly and principled; good ties with everyone; preparedness and readiness to face off any aggression, and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

To revive the ancient silk route Russia, Kazakhtan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan & China need to integrate their banking, transportation and tarrifs if they do it will combine the resources of Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan with Russian & Chinese know how, Chinese manufacturing and capital with Pakistani low cost labour & agriculture, emerging markets in a Pakistan,Iran,Turkmenistan & Kazakhstan and European access via Turkey and African access via ports in Pakistan I see CPEC & the OBOR initiatives by China as realizing this

The discussion is that India which wants t isolate Pakistan is failing miserably as even countries like Russia and Iran which r considered pro India are doing joint exercises and boosting relations with Pakistan

Pakistan stands for "peace and friendship" with all, especially with the neighbors. We warmly welcome Iranian Navy ships for joint exercises with the Pakistan Navy. The US, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and other navies have held regular exercises with the Pakistan Navy. This helps not just professional matters, but helps promote understanding and peace in the region.
