GWADAR: A security official laid down his life and another suffered injuries in the line of duty in Kallag Kolanch, an area near the coastal town of Pasni in Gwadar district, on Monday. The two personnel were deputed to provide security to a census team.

Levies officials said that attackers on a motorcycle opened fire on the two personnel when they were going to provide security to the census team.

The deceased was identified as Nasir Ali. He received multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. The injured man, Mohammad Amjad, was taken to a local hospital.

Security forces rushed to the area after the attack.

They launched a search operation in the area, but no arrested was reported till late night.

Meanwhile, the banned Baloch Liberation Front has claimed responsibility for Sunday’s bomb attack on a Frontier Corps convoy in the Mand area of Kech district. The attack had claimed lives of four personnel and left three others injured.
