Two workers of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) were killed in a suspected targeted attack in Orangi Town on Monday evening, according to Superintendent of Police Abid Ali Baloch.

The officer said that the PSP workers were sitting at a corner of a street near Qazafi Chowk behind Sindh Government Qatar Hospital when armed pillion riders attacked them and fled.

The men received fatal bullet wounds and were taken to the nearby Qatar hospital where doctors pronounced Abdul Hameed alias Nadeem alias Mulla, 55, as dead on arrival.

Moreover, Rashid Khan, 50, was shifted to a private hospital in North Nazimabad in critical condition, where he later succumbed to injuries.

“The victims belonged to the PSP and it appeared to be a targeted killing incident,” said SP Baloch.

The police said that the attackers wore helmets. The investigators collected four spent bullet casings fired from a 9mm pistol from the crime scene.

A PSP spokesperson discussed the matter with Dawn and agreed that the act was an act of targeted killing.

The party official said that Nadeem was an office-bearer of District West while Rashid was associated with the Karachi division of the party.

He added that this was not the first time PSP's party workers were targeted in the metropolis.
