Pakistan's ace boxer Mohammad Waseem retained his position as World Boxing Council's (WBC) number one and undefeated Silver Flyweight champion by defeating Panama's Ivan Trejos in a ranking match on Sunday.

Waseem had Trejos cornered from the first round by throwing punches relentlessly. By the third round, Trejos was knocked out by the Quetta-born boxer.

Known as Falcon Khan for his swift boxing style, Waseem remains undefeated in professional boxing with his seventh consecutive victory.

Waseem's success has brought him national and international recognition.

Earlier this year, he was invited to General Headquarters by the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa when he had successfully defended his WBC Silver Flyweight title after defeating Giemel Megramo of the Philippines in November.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also approved a Rs30 million grant for the country's top pugilist.
