KARACHI: Nasir Nawaz produced a good all-round show to help K.-Electric stun former Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup champions Dollar East by 24 runs in the latest match of the T20 cricket tournament at the Lawai Cricket Stadium on here on Monday night.

After Dollar East captain Mohammad Sami put the opposition into bat, K-Electric posted 165-5. Openers Zeeshan Malik and ex-international Nauman Anwar provided their side a superb start of 71. Nauman hammered 42 off 28 balls with six boundaries and a six, while Zeeshan emerged the top scorer with a 47-ball innings of 51 with six fours and one six.

Agha Salman scored 22 from 116 balls with two fours and one six before Nasir contributed a 10-ball cameo of 17. Slow left-armer Azam Hussain claimed 2-23 in four overs.

Dollar East, in reply, managed only 144-9 after the early departure of Pakistan discard Khurram Manzoor who was caught for 14 off left arm spinner Hassaan Khan.

Ijaz Ali Shah made 33 off 26 balls three fours and a brace of sixes to emerge as the highest run-getter, while Jahandad Khan slammed a 12-ball 24 with two sixes and two fours.

Hassaan took two wickets for 18 runs in his four overs. He got good support from Nasir Nawaz and Faraz Khan who also got two wickets apiece. This was Dollar East’s first defeat after back-to-back victories.
