HARIPUR: The University of Haripur will conduct the first-ever entrance test for medical colleges under the Khyber Medical University on July 15, 2018, official sources say.

They said the Educational Testing and Evaluation Authority (ETEA) had requested the University of Haripur for making arrangements for conducting the entrance test for medical colleges scheduled for July 15.

The request, according to the sources, was made when Dean of Ayub Medical College Prof Aziz-un-Nisa Abbasi, who resigned from her post last week, had written to ETEA that sparing space for

thousands of candidates in the college caused disturbance not only for the college, but also for the district administration, and, therefore, urged the authorities to arrange the entrance test for the academic year 2018 in the University of Haripur.

Meanwhile, the intending candidates for the entrance test from Haripur and other areas have lauded the decision of ETEA and University of Haripur.

SCHOOLS SEALED: The local administration sealed three private schools for violating the directives of Private School Regulatory Authority to close on June 1, official sources said.

They said owing to increasing temperature the authority had issued directives to all the schools to start their annual summer vacations from June 1, but some schools kept open on June 2.

On the complaint of parents, additional assistant commissioner Adnan Jameel, during surprise visits, sealed three private schools for violating the authority’s orders.

The district administration had written to the authority for action against the defiant school owners in Haripur.
