ISLAMABAD: The All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) has announced the names of the recipients of its annual awards which include five winners from Dawn.

Those Dawn writers who clinched the awards are Khurram Husain (Best Column); Ziad Zafar (Best Investigation); Zofeen T. Ebrahim (Best Business/ Economic Report); Syed Mutaza Ali (Best Photograph) and Mohammad Zahoor (Best Cartoon).

Others who received the prizes in the category of journalists are: Best Column Award (Urdu) Riaz Ahmed Syed (Nawa-i-Waqt), Best Column Award (Provincial Languages) Ali Mohammad Memon (Awami Awaz), Best Feature Award (English) Ali Bhutto (Newsline), Best Feature Award (Urdu) Shagufta Baloch and Mohammad Akram (Jang), Best Environmental/Conservation / Gender Report Razia Fareed (Jang), Best Business/ Economic Report Mahnoor Masood Farooqui (Newsline), Khaliq Khan (Jang) and Best Cover Story for Periodicals Ali Bhutto (Newsline).

Lifetime Achievement Award went to Arshad A. Zuberi (Business Recorder), Mohammad Aslam Kazi (Kawish), Javed Jabbar, Saleem Asmi, I.A. Rehman, Jamshed Qureshi (M/S Bond Advertising Pvt Ltd), Masudah M. Ahmad (Teenager) and Pir Sufaid Shah Hamdard (Wahdat Peshawar).

The Best Business Performance Award went to Midas (Pvt.) Ltd. followed by Creative Junction and the Synergy Advertising.

The Business Performance Award in the category of Periodicals was won by Oktopus 360 and the Media Business Performance Award in Regional category went to Midas (Pvt.) Ltd. Midas (Pvt.) Ltd. also won the Business Performance Award for Metro publications B category.

The Client Performance Award in private sector was won by Bahria Town, the Client Performance Award in public sector went to National Bank of Pakistan, the Creative Awards in Copy was bagged by Prestige Communications, in Design category for Synergy Advertising, Campaign category went to Prestige Communications and the Best Public Service Campaign award was won by Manhattan International.
