MURREE: Residents of Murree have been facing severe difficulty due to suspension of gas supply in the city and its adjoining areas after an explosion in a 12-inch gas pipeline was heard in Lower Topa.

Teams of Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot right after the explosion and set up an emergency check post to keep the situation under control. Students and government employees could not reach schools and offices on time.

According to GM Gas supplies, work on repairs is underway and it may take two to three days for supply to be restored.

The region is in the grip of extremely cold weather and unavailability of alternative fuel has made the lives of people even more troublesome; the reasons for sudden loss of gas in a large area should be disclosed, locals including Raja Mansoor Abbasi, Ikhlaq Abbasi, Javed Abbasi along with others said.
