Ex-minister Anwar Aziz Chaudhry passes away

NAROWAL: Former federal minister Anwar Aziz Chaudhry passed away at his residence in Lahore on Sunday after a sudden illness. He was 86.

Chaudhry was the father of PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz and father-in-law of PML-N MNA Mehnaz Akbar.

He began active participation in politics in 1963. In 1973, he became a close associate of the then prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and was made a federal minister in his cabinet.

He was elected to the National Assembly thrice from Shakargarh. He remained associated with almost every major political party. His funeral prayers will be offered at 2pm on Monday (today) in Shakargarh.
