LAHORE: Police claimed to have arrested four suspects on Sunday on charge of torturing an expatriate Pakistani woman in a land-grab case.

Alia Jillani, a UK national, lodged a complaint against PML-N Sheikhupura city president Munawar Iqbal and others for grabbing her six-and-a-half marlas commercial property in Gali Zargran.

Ms Jillani’s brother, Faisal, claimed that his sister was at her house when more than 25 people, led by Iqbal, reached there on Saturday around 10pm and tried to take occupy her shops and a house. He alleged that the suspects tortured and injured Ms Jillani and fled the scene. They came back after 12:30am and again tortured his sister.

Mr Faisal alleged that his sister suffered several injuries and her leg was also fractured. He said they had lodged a case in B-Division Police Station and a case was registered against the suspects.

The Sheikhupura police spokesperson said four of the suspects were arrested and police were conducting raids to arrest the main suspect, Munawar Iqbal.
