RAWALPINDI: The district administrations of Rawalpindi and Islamabad blocked the Faizabad intersection on Tuesday midnight while the law enforcement agencies began sealing areas and roads with containers to prevent the banned Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan’s (TLP) protesters from entering the federal capital territory.
On the other hand, the police started conducting raids at the residence/madressah of the chief of Rawalpindi chapter of the TLP to arrest him again, but he could not be arrested till the filing of this report.
The TLP leader was detained on Friday. However, he was released later when the government held a dialogue with the leaders of the banned party.
Out of the TLP activists arrested by law enforcement agencies from Rawalpindi and Islamabad since Thursday, only five were released from Adiala jail on Monday.
According to sources, police deployment was to be carried out in the garrison city before dawn and the roads blocked with containers and barbed wire to prevent any protest.
After Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid announced that the government could not meet the TLP’s demand for expulsion of the French ambassador from the country, the party said its activists would march on Islamabad.
The Punjab government directed the district police officers of Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali, Khushab and Bahawalpur to report to the Regional Police Officer of Rawalpindi Imran Ahmar, along with extra personnel, to assist the Rawalpindi range police to tackle the evolving law and order situation.

This drama of TLP and Government reminds me of Tom & Jerry episode, where Tom try to fool his owner in order to stay at home, while promise jerry to share food with him, else focus should be on protest against inflation.

Government failed to live by its commitment with everybody. They agreed TLP terms 6 months back but then shoved them under carpet. If you can't keep,don't promise. Whether TLP's demand in essence are good or bad is another discussion, their demonstration is fully justified since government conveniently reversed its agreement.

Disturbing to see TLYR supporters holding placards for the Namoos e Risalat but chanting slogans apparently against IK at an international forum (WC T20 2021) yesterday at Sharjah to divide and belittle Pakistan. Decades earlier MQM raised the party flags at the World Cup Final (which the IK team won) but it left a very bad taste
Why TLYR uses street power and religious sentiments to damage and challenge the state of Pakistan at moments when it needs unity then divide, FATF

Certainly French ambassador is not responsible for foolish cartoons and quips. If only TLP will understand that what happens in other countries is not the responsibility of government of Pakistan. Despite all this the PM of Pakistan has raised this issue at International forums to bring awareness to this problem. That is the best that can be done in the world with variety of people faiths and cultures. TLP is hurting Pakistan and cause of Islam more with its violent activities.
