SWABI: An enmity here claimed lives of two brothers on Friday, the police said.

SHO Swabi city Altaf Khan said the incident occurred in Kachkul Banda village of Bamkhel union council.

He said the deceased were on way home in a rickshaw when rivals opened fire on them. They died on the spot.

Mr Altaf said the cause of the incident was an enmity over relations of a woman.

The deceased were identified as Ismail Khan, 35, and Nadeem Khan, 28. The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for autopsy.

The police registered an FIR against suspects, Obaid Khan and Khalid Khan.

Meanwhile, the police arrested two people and recovered over six kilogrammes of charas from them.

DSP Chota Lahor Iftikhar Ali said over three kilogrammes charas each was recovered from Ravid Khan and Mohammed Farooq of Chota Lahor.

WORKSHOP: Speakers at the concluding session of a two-day workshop on ‘international humanitarian law’ on Friday called for avoiding conflicts and making collective efforts for economic wellbeing of people.

Women University Swabi (WUS) organised the workshop attended by faculty members of various universities, representatives of International Committee of the Red Cross and students.
